Default 93 del sol not running correctly

I just bought a 93 del sol that had a mini swap, all the electronics for the throttle has been taken off so it is cable driven, a/c compressor and power steering had been taken off. What it is doin is when it is cold outside the car will not start, when it isn't cold it hard to start and once started if I even touch the pedal it bogs down and cuts off. When it is finally runs it runs like poo. The car also has a cold air intake and sounds like it is backfiring through the intake may just be the way it sounds with it though. Please help I really want to get this thing running right.

CELS?
electronics not on throttle? elaborate
chipped ecu? swapped tps and map sensor plugs?
is timing correct? that can jack alot of stuff up.
check plugs and the condition to diagnose

How can you possibly expect the engine to run well with the sensor connectors unplugged?

Connect all sensor connectors, clear all CEL codes, and then go from there.

I didnt know this post went through. All of the sensors to the intake are there but it is just a cable driven throttle. The original throttle cable setup was taken off. I wish I knew more about these cars to tell what exactly was off. The car will not start when cold and when it is warm is starts but runs rough. I may try to adjust the TPS and the check engine does not come on so I may just need to put a new bulb in that and see what codes are in it. If this is a mini swap how can I tell if I have the right ECM in it? It supposed to be a P28 right?

basically all cars under 2002 are cable driven.
the best ecu for a minime motor would be a p28. if you can chip it and add a tad bit more fuel your set. but stock p28 ECU will be fine.

92-95 is obd1. you can have a ruff running motor and no CEL.
make sure you dont have map sensor and tps switched.
make sure you dont have IAT and the IACV switched(coolant module iacv, IAT intake air temp on the back of the manifold.

Lol I will check. Why would they make so many sensor with the same plug? Anyone know what the colors are on the wires or are they the same as well? I will take a pic of what im dealing with cause there are 2 plugs that don't have anything for them to hook to.

there is an evap dealy on your intake manifold. it can be unplugged and run fine with no codes its jus for emissions junk.
but..thats the only one that can run unplugged.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Well i spent a better half of two days working on this since i got fed up with there being either auto harnesses or 92 civic harnesses (where the map is on the firewall and the wiring is in the chasis harness...) at my local junk yard and all the 5spd harnesses i needed where cut by idiots.....

Mainly did this so as to use a d series harness on a integra motor and i thought whilst i was working on figureing whats what i decided to go ahead and figure out everything just in case........and since i couldnt find the engine harness diagram in the repair manual i decided to do it myself

(Caution: I bare no responsibility for you screwing up its your fault not mine the harness i used was from a 92 civic 5spd so others may be different but so far i havent found any differentiation besides vtec and of coarse auto......so lets begin shall we)

Wires and plugs are not in order in any way i just did as i pleased lol....
And when i say the wires and their approx position im looking at the female end and the clip side up
And when color/ color comes up that means main color/stripe color

Map Sensor
3 wires spaced left to right
White-Green-Yellow/green

TPS sensor
3 wires spaced left to right
Yellow/White-Red/Blue-Green/White

IACV sensor
2 wires spaced top bottom
Blue/yellow-yellow/black

VSS sensor(speed sensor)
3 wires spaced left to right
Yellow/White-Yellow/blue-Black

Fan switch/engine temp sensor
2 wires spaced top bottom
Black-Green

Thermostat Ground
4 wires connecting into one looped connector
-2 black wires-Red/black- Brown/black

Distributor Plug 1(large plug)
7 wires 1 blank distributed evenly from left to right (from upper left if looking at the plug eonnector side with clip up....)
1-Orange
2-Orange/blue
3-Blue/green
4-Yellow/green
5-White
6-White/blue
7-Blue/yellow
8-blank

Distributor plug 2 (small plug)
2 wires left to right
Black/yellow-Blue

02 Sensor plug
4 wires distributed evenly left to right top to bottom(from upper left)
1-Green/white
2-White
3-Orange/black
4-Yellow/black

Reverse sensor
2 wires left to right
Yellow-Green/black

(unsure of sensors name)
1 wire going to the head near the trans....
Yellow/green

(unsure of sensor name)
2 wires from top to bottom (this goes to the other sensor on the head....)
Red/white-Green/white

Starter wire
1wire female clip
Black/white

Now im going to reverse from where i started working my way to the other side....

Oil temp/psi sensor
1 wire
Yellow/red

Air intake temp sensor
2 wires from top to bottom
Green/white-Red/yellow

Vaccum sensor plug
2 wires from top to bottom
Yellow/black-Red

Alternator to fuse box wire
1 wire
White

Alternator plug
4 wires distributed evenly top bottom left to right (1 and 2 are horizontal, and 3 and 4 are verticle)
1-Blue
2-White
3-Black/yellow
4-White/blue

Fuel injector plugs
8 wires 2 in each plug from left to right with clip side up. a being left b being right....and im going from the farthest away from the harness itself first to the one closest....
1a)Yellow/black
1b)Yellow

2a)Yellow/black
2b)Blue

3a)Yellow/black
3b)Red

4a)Yellow/black
4b)Brown

End of the 1992 Engine plugs

Now i also had at my disposal a 94 si harness from a 5spd so here we go

Vtec solinoid
2 plugs

1wire plug
Green/yellow

2 Wire plug
Blue/black
Black

and at the junkyard i just glanced at the only plug needed for the auto trans (that two tier thing that looks like a dual vtec solinoid oil pressure sensor......

2 wire plug
Green/black
and either Yellow or Yellow/white
