Hi Guys,
I just returned from a 2 months holiday and started the wagon to do some shopping.
My windscreen wipers started working instantly and whatever I did with the switch they kept working then after a few minutes they would stop.
After restarting the car they would start working again, this happened twice but now they do not stop at all anymore.
Does anybody have any idea what causes this?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Ok so I have spend a long time looking at the threads here and did several searches and can not find what could cause this.
I found a post about the ball breaking off preventing the switch from working proper so I took mine apart.
It seems to be in perfect working order and the little ball on the end of the handle still works the switch up and down.

I found out that if I remove the piece that is highlighted with the red square the wipers stop functioning when I turn the ignition on.
They will only start working when I put the control on the fast setting but on normal speed and interval nothing happens.
I also took the handle from my coupe and connected it and again when I turn on the ignition they instantly start working and I can not stop them no matter what position I put the handle
Anybody have any clue what could be causing this ?
I am about to lose it, can't believe I can not figure out whats up...spend xxxx hours on this now.
As always any help will be greatly appreciated.
