Honda Civic 2013 - Strange internal noises and rearview camera appears when braking
Hi guys, new here, could really use your help
I recently bought a new Honda Civic 2013 and got in a wreck 2 months ago (got rear-ended), I get the car full repaired from a bodyshop and it's running fine for 2 weeks then all of a sudden today it starting messing up.
I noticed when I was driving and then braked the rearview camera would appear in the dashboard. It's only supposed to appear when in reverse. I pulled over and checked again, sure enough when I even lightly tap the brake, the camera pops up, plus there's a subtle clicking sound that comes from the shift lever console. Also, the turn signals cause a strange thumping sound coming from the center console on the passenger's side. When I apply the brakes, the turn signals change their rhythm. My first instinct was a bad switch or relay. But I'll take it to the dealership since it's still under warranty.
Anybody have a similar experience?

i haven't had anything similar to that but i did get some weird noise coming from around the cluster area once... ended up being the radio had a bad ground!
bring it in and let them deal with it... kinda curious as to where this electrical problem is coming from!

Definitely some wiring issue during the repair.
It's normal to hear the click by the shift lever when stepping on the brakes, especially when you're in PARK.

The camera is suppoesed to come on when it gets a positive signal from the reverse lights, not the brakes. They probably did a hack job on the wiring back there insead of getting the right harness from the dealer.
