My friends prelude, its like a 98 or something, wont go in gear. Its just stuck in park. Any clue as to what would cause this?

he is korean he cant drive a 5 speed. i think its the tranny is shot. ****** drove it like a race car. neutral drops at the track and all.. ****** moron...

 

This is a problem that has happened to a friend of mine also and other Hondas with SS. Honda is recalling SS transmissions from certain Honda models to get fixed. Go to the dealership and tell them that the SS is gettin stuck. They will replace the transmission or fix it. They should also give him an extended warranty by like 2 years. But Very few of the transmissions need to be replaced.

Why's that?
Autos are better than manuals in some ways, eg my auto Prelude creates more torque than a manual.

 

about the SS recall is that true? cause my tranny just got fvcked and its costing me 2g's to fix. and its been in the damn shop for over 2 weeks! honda won't send the repair shop the parts needed. any hooo's i was at honda about 2 months ago and told them "the tranny feels weird and shifts poorly" honda rep. "are the gears slipping man? cause if they are.. HONDA isn't backing that up!" me "i know about honda's shitty job when they made the SS tranny's "

p.s. i did hear a rumor that a lot of pple are trying to get honda to recall ALL the 97+ ss's not sure..

yea i got my ss tranny recalled and they fixed it even though it was fine, but i did not understand why its only 2000+ models?

 

does anyone know why the 97+ lude tranny break down so easy???

 

cause they are shitty! mine broke 3 weeks ago. and it costing me 2g's to fix. (rebuild 1000 and 850 for honda parts TCM and speed sensor) and waste my damn time taking the train going to skool. about 80% of pple over at po.com swore it was a 'honda' **** up and the other 20% said it was due to the careless drivers etc. (i was in the 20%) but then when my lude f'd on me.. i decided it was a honda thing

 

It's not really a recall. Honda simply extended the transmission warranty to 100,000 miles for all 5th generation ludes, not just 2000+. My lude is a 97 and Honda just fixed mine.
