HI, I'm new to honda-tech. I own a 95 civic dx, I left my headlights on one rainy day and it drained the battery dead by next day. It messed up my pcm ecm, there must be some kind of battery in there that it drained also. The fuel pump comes on with a delay now depending how long the key is in off position. 1 min = 7 second delay, 30 min = 3 min delay etc.

Ok now getting to the issue, I swapped out an A01 computer from a 93 civic to test my 95civic which has an A02 comuter and the fuel pump came right on with no delay. So my question is will this computer work with no issues or do I need to buy one? I've looked for some on ebay and listings say they have to be the same part # or some features might not funtion properly.

BTW also adding in the problem of the fuel pump delay b/c i read almost everywhere and every post suggested a ground or loose fuse, so maybe this will help in the future of someone's problem being diagnosed as the ecm pcm.

 

N/m this I put the old pcm back in and it works fine now, must have been a corroded terminal on the pcm. It has had a worse delay when it rains so maybe that was it.

 

Usually it's the main relay up under the driver's side of the dash that's the problem in terms of the fuel pump not priming. As far as the ECU goes, as long as the middle 3 digits are the same and it's from a '92 - '95 it will work fine, the last three digits are just the country code and revision.
