Temperature gauge not working. Need wiring help!
I got a new sending unit for my 1994 Integra because my temperature gauge was not working. That did not fix it. I noticed a loose wire hanging by my feet I traced it and it lead to the sending unit. I found cut wires that are the same color too. I need help figuring out where the green wire from the sending unit leads too behind my dashboard.
There are three(3) ECT, [engine coolant temperature "units].
1- ECT sending unit, [for temp gauge] is a one wire unit, it is yellow/green, that green wire, [2nd pix] is not stock, and if the green wire in first pix is grounded, that is wrong also, grounds are either black or brown.
2- ECT switch, [for rad fan] is a two wire unit a black and a green, the green lead runs from the switch to the rad fan relay in the engine bay fuse box.
3- ECT sensor, [for ECU/ECM] is a two wire unit a red/white and a green/blue both run the the ECU/ECM.
So question is, which one did you change?94

Those wires aren't grounded they are just fed through and cut. Unfortunately it is for the dash sending unit, I traced it out of the firewall to check(my temp gauge not being on helped to tell too). Does anyone have a clue where the end of the wire goes? all of the wiring diagrams and stuff i find dont really help much.
On the cluster look at the plugs and find a green one that matches then run a direct wire I had to do that when I chopped my engine harness up
.
.
So the black and green leads in the first pix are not grounded to that bolt?
Are you saying someone replaced the stock yellow/green sending unit lead with tat green lead???
The stock, [yellow/green] ECT sending unit lead is part of the engine harness that connects to the dash harness, [at pass shock tower] and runs to the cluster plug(s), what you have there is not stock. 94

Still unsure if this is for his ECT(as 2 wires are loose) or the sending unit which is a single wire, he says his temp gauge isn't working either.

Well to be a lot more detailed I traced the green wire from my sending unit it led through my firewall and to the floor (2nd picture)The first picture is the back of my dashboard i pulled it out and looked for a green wire that was cut. I found two green wires and a black one that are not grounded they are just fed through (they are not attached to the harness). So i guess really i have two questions where does the sending unit plug into and does anyone have an idea what those cut wires are for? I appreciate the help btw!
afaik the sending unit goes to one of the wires of the gauge cluster plugs as for the ECU one goes to the #13 pin on the D connector of the ECU and the black is a round so afaik it can go anywhere.
