How do you read the full VIN on an 06 non si sedan? I want to know where the car was built(especially where the engine was built). First few of my VIN are: 1HGFA.

 

There were all mostly made at the Alliston plant in Ontario Canada

Allston ON is a 2HG, his would be 2HGFA1...the engines except for the Ks are made there too...

 

According to my VIN it says the car was made in East liberty Ohio so does that mean the car was made in Ohio and the engine was made in Canada? So when they built the 2006 civic did they make the cars and engines at the same plant or were the engines manufactured at a different plant the the car was?

 

Engines are made in several locations. If your car was made in the US, the engine could have been made there as well...
