AWD interest.
Can anyone direct me to a thread whether it be a build thread or a how to regarding awd civics/integras? I've done some research and really am considering trying to build one myself. Any input is greatly appreciated!
AWD is a huge task just looking at the scale of it, honestly unless you're dead set on awd in a honda, I'd find a diff car for it. I've heard of an awd integra being done but it's very, very, VERY expensive and difficult. I'm pretty sure they used CRV drivetrain parts for it
I've put a lot of thought into it. Some people have done it different ways, such as using the wagovan rear end and drive shaft, crv trans. Some have used the crv rear end. Either way, I know i'll most likely need to make my own subframe, probably cut/modify trailing arms as well as other things. I'm just going to shop around for a trashed crv or wagovan. If I can pick one up for a couple hundred bucks, and spend a few hundred on metal and other odds and ends I don't see it being very expensive. I attended a welding school and do a good bit of fab work on the side. This sort of thing is something hopefully ill make a career out of. Random engine swaps and custom fab work is very interesting to me. I've had Honda's, I had a 1g tsi awd with a cage that made 586awhp on pump, and I've had an sr swapped s13 hatch, And I honestly equally enjoy each and every car. Which is also why i'd like to start mixing it up and throwing them together. I also was looking into 4g63 swapping the integra I picked up. Im full of ideas lol. Just looking for the best and most efficient lol

Back in the late 1990's I picked up a 1988 wagovan (if that's the name I forget)
the trans was messed up so I went pick-n-pull and bought another trans from a 85 AWD well that was a screw up since the transmissions where different I ended up going to the $$dealer to get the parts
The 88 had IRS which look pretty impressive for a Civic I thought
Do a search it’s been done several times but I don't think anyone has tried to transfer the IRS system to regular Civic

Good luck

Me and a buddy built a 1ga AWD and made 844 on e85 and a little over 600 on 93o. Unfortunately the return line on the turbo caught a pothole and sparked and blew up the bottom of the motor.
You sound pretty deadset on your interest so all I can say is good luck with the project.
There are many threads in this topic.

I think the good way is keeping the shock towers intact, and properly modifying the rear trailing arms to accept the driveshaft.
You could use the RTSI/4wd civic wagon or the CRV driveline, but you have to strengthen the transfer case and other components.
The project is fabrication-heavy, but if you have skill and tools, the components are not that expensive. I'm considering going awd in the future too
Do your homework, research, measure, experiment, it's not that impossible

Thanks for all the help and support guys! That's such a bummer about that motor Delta! And an sr swap in a honda would be sick! I'm not planning on rushing this what so ever, so i'll be continuing my research for a while longer. But as soon as it comes time to start fab work and such I'll most likely start a build thread and be sure to include tons of pictures and talk my way through the whole project!
We did one at my shop. Actually wasn't too difficult

check the build thread in my sig. towards the end of the thread i did a b series crv trans with a wagon rear set up in my old sedan. It wasn't that hard if you have a general knowledge with fabrication and welding. Just took some time to complete.

I have a awd project in the works. If you can do the fab work yourself it's not really that expensive. Hardest part is finding wagovan parts if you decide to go that route. It's been done quite a few times and the info is out there. I have a build thread of mine here on ht check it out!
