Default Sparco Seats

I've been looking for some half decent 'cheap' seats for my EF hatch. I have seen Sparco R100 and Sparco Sprint V seats for about $300 each. Is that about as cheap as new seats come? Or is there another brand out there that comes at a better price?

As far as use, it's a daily driver with limited track use. Mostly drag racing, rare auto-x and I drive it a couple days a week to and from work. The reason I'm looking for something new is mostly because I can't find some decent Del Sol seats and my stock seats are falling apart.

Thanks.

(P.S. probably spelt that wrong, don't care) And I may opt to go with a fixed back driver seat and a reclining passenger seat so I can still utilize my rear seat (cause I got a kid) if I need to.

Have you considered sourcing CRX seats (or really any other 90's Civic/CRV/Integra seat), and doing a pan swap?

I just finished another phase of my seat project on my hatch. When I get everything buttoned up, I'll be selling the custom covers I got from dank710/Rolando. They were a hefty price, but if you stack up the costs of my seat refurbishing project, I ended up paying roughly the same amount to patch one seat vs. buying an entire front seat re-upholstery kit.

PM me if you're interested and we can try and work something out

Update: F22Master has some decent seats. My only question now is:

Should I go with Del Sol Seats or aftermarket racing seats? Can I get someone to chime in who may have had both options? Or at least experienced both.

Del Sol seats in my opinion are a little more comfortable. Race/track seats are a little to stiff for daily use IMO

Noted. I have heard the R100 Sparco seats are very comfortable though.

Anyone have any experience with quality seat covers? Iggee in particular, I've read about them recently.

I've only had the Del Sol seats and loved them on the track. sat low and comfortable. would have them in my sedan if it weren't for the auto-seatbelts. when I got rear ended by someone doing 60mph, they did their job by breaking.

Very good point. I think I may opt for the Del Sol seats. Factory equipment is known to do its job.

I went way off topic, deleted it. I'll just PM you.

Fixed back for a daily driver is just a poor idea (it is on the lines of cages in a street driven car). Get something designed around wearing a 3-point (OEM) belt and OEM crash protection (not that the EF chassis has any, but at least a OEM seat will allow your body/head to move if needed).

I actually forgot about the fixed seat issue with stock 3-point harnesses. I am opting for a recling seat most likely. The Sparco R100 are reclining seats. And so are the Del Sol seats. The EF chassis has an air bag... which is sort of crash protection, right?

I am by no means going to be the guy with a harness bar, 4 point harness, roll cage, ect in a street car. Absolutely no reason in my opinion and it's just not safe.

What 88-91 came with an airbag? Even if it did, it would be a 1st gen airbag, and those are as bad/worse as having no airbag at all.

You are already rolling the dice daily driving an 88-91. Don't make it any worse. Personally, why not just have your OEM seats reupholstered? Wouldn't that be as cheap as a set of DelSlo seats and avoid the rigging required to get them to work?

Mine have no head rests and are missing foam. Maybe they don't have airbags, I don't know really.

I will roll the dice with my 89 hatch. It's still 15 years newer than my VW I've been driving since I was 16. I was under the impression Del Sol seats are an upgrade to the standard seats I have in my hatch. I also though the rigging wouldn't be too bad. I can just weld bracket on to make it line up.
