2000 Accord Rotors Secured by Axle Nut?
Hello, everyone,
2000 Honda Accord. Tried to replace my rotors this weekend but I just couldn't pull the darn thing off. After carefully examining the rotor again, it looks like the rotor is being secured in place with an axle nut?

Is this normal? All the places I've read said to remove the screws and the rotor should just come off.

the moderate build up of rust is hiding the seam between the rotor and the hub. the small OD "pilot" collar just around the axle nut is what centers the rotor and is part of the hub, but it is not part of the rotor.
see the threaded holes on the "hat" of the rotor? their purpose is you help get the rotor loose. put an M6 bolt in each and incrementally tighten them. they will push the rotor off of the hub. soak in plenty of penetrating oil before hand, and to go the extra mile dab some anti-seize on the bolt threads.
