Default $300 for a bare gsr block?

At the risk of being criticized for a "stupid" post, I wanted to know if 300 was a fair price for a gsr block with main caps. No head, pistons, rods, crank, or oil pump. My goal is to build a 300-400hp turbo setup to drop in my 95 gsr, so I would be replacing internals anyway. Seems like a bare block is a better option than shelling out 1-2k for a complete motor full of parts I'm just going to replace anyway. Any thoughts?

300 seems expensive to me without a crank.

However I would not buy a used block that I could not magnaflux first. 94

Thanks for the input everyone. Well, if anyone on here hears of someone selling a complete gsr block or complete motor, please PM me. Dying to get this project started .I'm almost tempted to just build my stock motor, but it only has 101k on it and I thought it would be a good idea to keep my stock motor intact on a stand in case my turbo setup ever blows up on me so I can drop it back in and keep driving until I fix the turbo setup. The only thing worse than blowing your $5k motor is not being able to drive the car until you can get it fixed. Lol.

Why not buy an LS block/crank and toss a VTEC head on it? LS bottom ends are easy to find and you get the added bonus of a slightly longer stroke compared to the GSR (87.2mm vs 89mm). You will have to buy the LS/VTEC conversion kit, but on the flip side, you dont have to buy the oil squirter plugs.

a good point. i mean, if someone ran assembled factory bottom ends the GSR is by far the best for boost. flat tops, same rods as the type r, nitrated crank etc

but

if you're building and buy new pistons and rods, all those goes out the window, the LS block would be just as good and one hell of a lot easier to find

Ehh... that's a little too much for just a block and caps... here in Jacksonville and Orlando the most I've seen it go for just for gsr block and caps is $230...

If it's $300 shipped that's a good deal coat about $60 to ship a bare block

I've sold two on here for around 275-300.

You can always find a steal of. Deal just act fast
