Default Building B18C motor to plop in EJ2

Hey, new to HondaTech but as the title says I'm building the motor from my integra GSR and installing it in a 1994 civic coupe. I'll be asking a few questions but also hopefully will be able to help out some as well

Just a little more info, the 1998 Integra GSR was my daily until it was totaled just over a year ago when someone ran a stop sign and tboned me.

Since then I've been tearing apart the old motor and building it to what I always wanted it to be.

In the middle of Feb. I picked up a 1994 DX coupe that I will be using as a shell.

There's still tons to to, Finish the motor build, swap the suspension from the teg to the dx, etc etc.

The engine is currently at the machine shop and someone is supposedly taking the integra shell off my hands today. I've been doing little things like swapping the integra interior over to keep myself busy.

Below are some pics of my build progress

Integra after accident

Pulling and stripping the engine

The Civic

I'm very excited to finally have a shell to be working w

kind of sort of the same thing that happened to me. had a 93 integra ls b18a1 bottom end with a b18b head. gsr interior, a few other goodies. got rear ended and my da9 was totaled. took the insurance money and got a 93 ej2. had a zc sohc. 2 months after getting the civic, i blew the motor. not sure how or why. i was driving normal highway speeds (65-70mph) and all of the sudden heard a noise from the engine bay and the cabin filled with smoke. pulled off at the very next exit and the car died. i really miss my da9, i LOVED that car...

Thanks dude I'm really happy with the progress I've been making lately. I was definitely bummed at first but I guess everything happens for a reason and honestly can't imagine a better outcome under the circumstances

Im sorry to hear that man. You ever pull apart the engine to find out what happened? I bought an 07 sentra spec v with the insurance money but decided to retain the integra as well in order to part it out and build the engine. Super glad I decided to go this route!

yeah i pulled out the motor, completely took it apart. and months later im still no closer to understanding why the motor blew. its all good tho. perfect excuse for a swap. not exactly sure which direction i want to go yet as far as a swap is concerned. i live in cali so im somewhat limited as to what i can do legally. i wasnt allowed to keep my da, i mannaged to get my sub and amp out tho, and my hid kit which is now in my wifes 97 maxima. well looks like ur off to a great start i will keep up on ur thread and i wish u the best of luck on this endeavor.

Small update: no progress has been made on the build since picking up the engine from the machine shop as I'm waiting for school to wind down. I did however sell the d series from my donor shell on Monday!

Welcome to Honda-Tech! Glad to have you on-board!

Ask a mod to move this to the build section!

Yeah, I probably should have just made this in the build section to start with... Just forgot to make a new thread and got carried away haha

I'll try and contact a mod but don't actually know how...
