1996 honda accord transmission won't go in reverse
I'm looking to purchase a car, and have found this 1996 automatic honda accord that I would absolutely love to buy, however on the ad it states that the transmission only wants to go in drive and it doesn't want to go in reverse.
And they didn't add any other info about it. So I was wondering if anyone could let me know any and all reasons this would happen and how much it would roughly cost to fix each different reason for why it won't go in reverse. My husband would most likely buy whatever part he would need and fix it himself. It's two in the morning now, and my husband will call tomorrow morning to see if they can describe anything more about what's going on with it not going in reverse, I am just excited about possibly buying the car that I had to try and look up problems that could be causing it to do this and prices. they are asking $2500 hundred for it and once I find out the mileage I was gonna offer them $2000 unless whatever is wrong with it would cost more then $300 to fix or if it would just need to have the transmission replaced since they live over 3hrs from so we would pretty much have to know we're gonna buy before we even leave to drive there. So any and all info is greatly appreciated! I apologize for the very little info I was able to give, but like I said I seen it for sale, fell in love with it, and put all the info I had on the car on here. Thanks again!

There's a few good tutorials for Accord automatic rebuilds on Youtube.
I also bookmarked this: http://digitalaero.blogspot.com/2012...nsmission.html
I regularly see 6th Gen V6 Accords with transmission problems on Craigslist for ~$1000. Like, 2001 Coupes with every option. $2K for a 5th gen with problems is pretty steep IMO.
