Raybestos brake pads
I am wondering if anyone else used or has used Raybestos Brake pads. I searched and I turned up in the roadrace/auto x-cross and one person used Raybestos Cheapo pads from pep-boys ($19.00 I believe). Has anyone else used them?
I'm using them for just daily driving, and a little spirited driving every now and then. I know there are nice performance pads, for $50-80, but I don't need stoping power like that. TIA.

not on an integra.. but I've put on Raybestos PG Plus (pg is supposed to stand for Professional/Premium Grade) Pads on someone's Camry V6 before... they haven't complained about them.. and they have a lifetime warranty...
raybestos are crap..imho. they don't last for long don't stop as good as others. I would stay away.

Street pads and auto x pads are a whole different level. If you just want some pads for daily driving then they are ok but if you're looking for performance then I would look elsewhere.
I just purchased some Raybestos pads and learned that they no longer offer lifetime replacement. They said they would only replace the pads if there was a manufacturer's defect, but not for wear and tear. I guess they were losing too much money and had to change their policy.
damn that sux.. when we bought it for my friends Camry they had lifetime replacement (even on wear) at Kragen Autoparts... my friend told me they changed their policy and I asked the guy about my friends Raybestos PG Plus'.. the guy at Kragen told me if it was bought before Sept 1, 2002 (which my friends pads were).. they will still honor/replace them since it said "lifetime" on the receipt.. but if its after that date.. they only cover defects...
Autozone still offers lifetime warranty on their Performance Friction pads as far as I know... we looked into those also when I was doing the pad replacement on my friends car... it was $36 - Raybestos w/ lifetime (from Kragen) and $45 - Performance friction pads from Autozone w/ lifetime... he went w/ the Raybestos cuz he just has a Camry V6.. nothing special and he doesn't drive crazy... but as far as I know autozones PF pads are still warrantied for life...

When you guys are talking about raybesto pads, which models are you referring to? I just went to pep boys and picked up the ceramic ones ($50).. there is also a $20 one and a $40 one.. it is true that the warranty will only cover manufacturer defects now and not normal wear and tear.. but the cashier said if you get someone cool, they'll usually just warranty old pads.. i'm just wondering if the $50 pads are worth the extra $$$...
I'm referring to the PG Plus' it was about $40... we bought them in like Dec 2001 on my friends car.. so his are warrantied for life (it says so on the receipt).. we asked the guy at Kragen and he said since its printed on the receipt and we bought it before 9/1/2002 then they have no choice but to warranty it for lifetime... but he said if it was purchased after 9/1/2002 then its not warrantied against wear and tear.....dunno if this is the raybestos policy but thats what the guy at Kragen told me...
