Default SOMEONE HELP PLEASE !!!

ok i have a stock integra gsr with a stock b18c1. after a while the oil light started flickering put a gauge on it and yes the oil pressure was low 10psi idle. i put new main bearings and rod bearings in with new oil pump and still did the same thing. so i rebuilt the motor and checked all the journals, cams, crank, new rings, honed cylinders, etc. however i did not get a new oil pump (did not have the cash) put it all back together and it still does the same so i put a pump on it from a b20z i had laying around thins time it was not as bad (25psi idle and 25psi at 3000) but still i cant use it like this. i start a new job next week and have to have my car back HELP ME !

Seems like oil pump is shot..run the b20z pump until you get your first check. Dont be driving the car hard. Buy oil pump immediately. Put it in, and you are good. Check your oil clearances for mains and rods. Mains are .009- .012 amd the 3rd journal i believe is .010-.013? Numbers can be had if you download the service manual. Hope it helps!

Once u put a new oil pump on make sure its vtec oil pump. And make sure u take off the oil pick up tube clean the screen with brake cleaner while it's out and let dry. Probably dirty and clogged and can't suck up no oil.

115 dollar obd2 pump from honda is a LOT cheaper than a toasted engine for sure.

45 psi sounds fine? 80 seems really high.

45 is not fine. Minimum spec from honda is 50 psi @ 3000rpm. 80 should be correct.

So smaller engines need higher oil pressure? Even at WOT in many gM vehicles i drove (trailblazers, silverados), i would get 60-70 psi at Full throttle, pushing north of 5000 rpm (about all a GM engine can handle). So do bigger engines need less oil pressure?

And i remember ronJ at one point mentioning on the 92-00 civics, 10psi at idle was normal. Have things changed?

Just how they are made.. My cutlass with a 350 sbc in it has way lower oil pressure across the whole rpm range. And 80 is right where you wanna be pretty much. That's what I'm usually at, unless at idle obviously.

i called the honda dealer asked about a pump the told me the price but could not tell me it was for a b18c1 "that does not mean anything to me its for an integra" does anyone know of another good place to get a oil pump. i have not had any problems with the car other than this and i would really like to see what another pump would cost instead of putting in another washer
