Default Steering Rack noise question

Hi there,
About a month ago I replaced inner and outer rods in my 98 EX civic. When installing the inner rods I didnt have any locknut on the new ones. I applied Brake Stop Queak blue stuff on the threats and it was properly tighten.

I am noticing a knocking sound on the steering when turning and left and right repeatedly. Thought it might be a CV joint wich I saw some horizontal move but it seems to be coming from the rack itself. What is supposed to do this noise here?

It does it too when I turn and then let the steering wheel go, it just knocks once on every direction move.

Manual or power rack? If power, is the power steering hooked up? Does it make a clunk noise and can you feel it sort of skip when you turn the wheel?

Its a stock power rack. Yes it does kind of a knock noise but only if turning to one side and then right away to the other.

Maybe I need this...

I have to see if I have such adjustment bolt on my rack though. And also the Honda 40mm tool.

They all knock a little. Is anything actually loose?

Also...go buy a lock nut. Blue thread locker won't lock anything unless you squeeze all the air (oxygen) out of the threads. Also....thread locker shouldn't be put on the lock nut area of a tie rod. What happens when you want to adjust it?

But I am referring about the Inner rod, I put that brake stop squeak stuff on the inner going to the rack. Those inner rods did not came with any locknut so I didnt know they needed one while doing the job. I dont even understand how you are supposed to install this locknut, saw it has two fins but wonder how you get proper torque on the rod plus having the fins exactly matching the rack place to bend them.

Oh. That isn't a lock nut. It's called a staking washer or lock washer. The two tabs fit into slots. You don't crush them.
