Default NASA-VA: Is anyone willing to share a schedule for 2003 yet?

Is there a schedule, even a tentative one, out there for next year. I checked the website and didn't see one.

Thanks!

I doubt there is anything solid enough to share at this point.

I thought most scheduling was done well in advance. Maybe they're waiting for the entire season to be finalized.

It's painful to say, but I've given up interest in the ECHC 2003 Schedule (thru September anyway). I have come to the realization that time & money and the satisfaction of other important desires are obstacles that cannot reasonably be overcome.

I used to think winter was long - I don't think that anymore. It's very difficult to save much money or get enough long range projects done. To meet my goals for 2003 I must cut everything but the minimum number of races and enough testing days to sort out driver as well as car.

If (and I believe there's not really any doubt) the ECHC has a fair number of years of vitality, and the WCHC comes anywhere near that success, then the opportunity will be there each year an East meets West Race/Party.

Scott, who doesn't like going back on his word about Mid-Ohio....

What's why I said "willing to share". I know there must be some schedule in the works... it's whether it's to a point theyu will post it or not that's the question.

I can wait...

Last year Chris had a tentative schedule in November, but it wasn't solid until January.
Then the Lowes folks changed things a couple of times...

Scheduling is a true bitch.

I have, via forwarding, an e-mail from Cobetto that details the schedule as "90% solid" but I'm not sure if I'm supposed to be sharing it or not.

Chris will post it if it is appropriate for us to know. If I were you I wouldn't post it up here.

Don't post the super secret schedule, or the men in black suits will be knocking at your door!

It is just a schedule. I don't see the need for the secrecy.

Agreed. I'm not an NASA official and I wouldn't want to step on anyones toes. I have it for tentative planning of the Cup next year but I doubt it's public knowledge yet.

Lawrence from OH/IN makes it work. My first track day with Nasa Oh/In we ran 5 30min sessions. Yes, 2.5 hours of track time.

I bet the instructors just *loved* that if they had more than 1 student. I think I'd mutiny.

Ummmm... 4 HPDE run groups:
Novice
Intermediate
Advanced
Instructor

1,2,3,4.

The difference is???

And Ohio does not have nearly as much as Virginia has going on. Not yet at least.

Notice however there are just race groups and no HPDE like it was @ Charlotte this year.

nope, one student per instructor.

The big difference is that it was an HPDE only. No races going on. The way it should be, if you ask me.

I have looked into the fees required to rent a track, and with the size of the feilds that NASA-VA is seing in 944 Cup, AI, and HC alone, they should be able to run races on different days than HPDE's. Maybe in the beginning, this wasn't possible, but with the amount of people I see at HPDEs now, it could be done.

Good thing since if it were 2 or god forbid 3, they wouldn't keep instructors long.

The big difference is that it was an HPDE only. No races going on. The way it should be, if you ask me.
I can count at least 7 groups, and that's off the top of my head, that only do HPDEs, no races. If that is your preference, then there should be PLENTY of opportunity for you to avoid combined race/HPDE weekends.

It could be done financially, but you are forgetting that each group only has limited access to dates for any given track. Would you prefer NASA-VA to give you only half the opportunity to be on track any given year with them? Assuming that the current dates were evenly split between HPDE and Racers? Money wise, it might work, but datewise, probably not. Also, NASA-VA is a for-profit group. As well as wanting to put on kick-*** events, which they do, they need to make money, not just break even for a weekend (like a "club").

r2x ~ who is not arguing with you per-se, just pointing out a few things you might not already know. *shrug*

edit - damn quote tags!
