skunk 2 sleeves and shocks question **ef9**
Hello i have a question no negative comments please, i have skunk2 sport shocks on my car and are great but, i want to knoe if i can ride skunk2 sleeves(coils) i want to go a bit lower like 1 finger gap, and will the ride be smooth or harsh??
I have the skunk2 sport shocks on a 89 si with some ebay coilovers and it rides pretty good as well. Lowering another inch should be fine. I would be more worried if you were slamming it on the ground.
It will be harsh. It will be fairly slammed at the point, not scraping during regular driving, but quite low. I think this would be better suited for the suspension subforum though. But back on topic. When you go low, you have to have higher spring rates or you will bottom out. That goes hand and hand with a rough ride if you use quality parts. If you use eBay products, not targetting anyone, it will probably be bouncy. That's what I've always heard. I read the reviews on skunk2 coilovers and basically they all said, "Now I'm slammed and love it! #WhatEverKidsSay"
Final opinion, go with the full skunk2 set up. You will probably enjoy it over all since this is what you want.

He already has the skunk2 sport shocks. I have used the skunk2 coilovers with stock struts on a 93 CX and it was a nice ride. The sport shocks on my current car are definately better than original however I went with a sport height instead of being stanced and negative camber. Just my preferance. On my other car I will probably end up with either progress or skunk2 full setup but that will be more of a race car.
I'm opting for Progress CSII myself. But I don't like the lowered look that he is going for.
I did suggest getting the skunk2 coilover sleeves since he has the sport shocks. I was just detailing the common complaints. I also said he'd be plenty happy with it for what he wants.

So you have skunk2 springs and shocks. Correct? How are you planning on going lower with skunk2 coilovers like these:

Those coilovers and shocks will be fine. As said previously I have used both on seperate occasions. Your car will handle much better than original. I would be more concerned with bushings for the ride quality as yours if not replaced are over 20 years old.
I have the Skunk2 coil overs and the ride is absolutely harsh. I bounce around so hard sometimes that I feel like my kidney will fall out. If you ever plan on having a girl in the car, stick with what you got.
This is what it looks like with a fair amount of height. When I first started out, the car was resting on the tires, in the front.
