Default EG Shift Boot/Shift **** ID/Query

Hello,

I saw this shift boot on the net and I bought it, it fits perfectly on my eg hatch...I'm kinda curious on this shift boot/shift **** combo. The seller is saying it came from like a "25th Anniversary Civic"...I'm calling it bogus. Though I'm not really sure if there were 25th Anniversary Civics, as far as I know there were some 20th Anniversary Civics but not 25th's.

Anyway I tried looking them up, but can't get anything. The closest that I can see that resembles the shift boot/shift **** combo was on the SiR-S brochure...but I think the SiR-S one has a separate shift boot and shift ****...can't tell because it's not very clear.

Here:

Well it might be generic or something(good thing I bought it cheap)...I'm just curious if anybody already seen something like this one.

Here's what I bought...

Thanks!

That SIR **** and your **** don't look at all alike.

As an SIR is widely availible in Canada as a US SI (Canadian SI is more akin to an EX here), below is what it more closely resembles.

Yours looks more like some wacky *** aftermarket / dealer option.

Then again, this is also more of an appearance thing, not a lot of tech :/

Looks generic to me. Seller probably knew that too which is why it was cheap. The SiR-S shift **** + boot was a 2-pc unit.

The voice of authority on this topic has spoken... IMO.

Still, what you bought looks to me like a nice aftermarket piece. Probably all-leather? Definitely worth the $15.

Difficult? No. Annoying? Yes: You have to install the **** and boot in to the console plastics first, then screw it on to the shifter column by rotating everything. Maybe there's a better way but I haven't fussed around enough with my own 1-pc **** + boot to figure it out.

ARe there like clamps? Or is it just jammed between the floor and trim?

He's asking how the boot is held in place to the floor position. Are there clamps holding it to the trim or does the plastic housing just hold it down to the carpet?

Someone should pay me for these translations.

The boot is held in a metal bracket. Bottom left picture in the original post makes that pretty clear.

Never saw that originally. I've seen many videos where people swap these out and there's no metal ring, the leather just kinda hangs out whereever it wants like a dress blowing in the wind.

The level of stupidity or trolling in that statement is hilarious.

Grammar and spelling are different.

There is still a grammatical error.
