Default 93 accord update and issues

Hey all,

So I posted a little while ago about a bad vibration and low idle, etc. So last night I cleaned the EGR, throttle body, comletely replaced all the coolant hoses coming to and from the IACV and FACV( one of which was 100% clogged. Literally) . I also bought a brand new FACV and tightened down the diaphragm.
Lastly, I replaced just my passenger side motor mount( I stripped the bolt to the drivers side one and cant get it out ) . With all that said, you would think the car would HAVE to run better?

Now when I take my foot off the gas ( say your going 75 on the freeway and just let off the gas) the car kind of makes a high rumbling type sound. It also operates and shifts in higher rpms than before, and when I shift to reverse to back up, the car shakes real bad and feels like it's about to die, I have to give it a decent amount of gas to even back up. Drive seems to work fine, but still have excessive rumbling, shaking, and vibrating. Also the idle hunts up and down from 400-700 at stopped ( in drive) .

All I did was good , and my car now seems worse. Any thoughts are appreciated...

Best.

There are two bolts that hold the mount to the engine. One is a stud. The other is a bolt. For the stud you will need to get two bolts possibly from the junkyard. Slide them on facing each other after putting a box wrench around the first one you thread on. Using a ratchet tighten the outer one while holding the inner one. Then use the box wrench to back out the inner bolt and it will pull the entire stud off the bracket. You should also just get another stud from the junkyard. I've had one bust before and even if you don't need it you could be better off having a spare.

I'm assuming you have jacked up the engine to take pressure off the bolt and stud so you can take them off.

When putting the transmission mount on, you must line up everything using a floor jack before tightening it all down or it could be kinked and causing vibration.

Can you make a video of the rumbling sound ? upload it to photobucket and post the link to it here.

You may be reading the tachometer incorrectly. The very first white line is 500. The next is 600 then 700 then 800 then 900 then the next big line is 1000.

If not, then I would replace the oxygen sensor with a Denso unit if you haven't yet.

From that sound it sounds like you got a mount not tightened down or something. You said you stripped that bolt, is it loose ?

Also if you get a new fitv you shouldn't be touching it at all. Over time it will loosen up but brand new it's not needed at all.

Furthermore the car is going to idle higher on a cold start and as the car warms up the idle will gradually drop. This is normal.

From visual inspection they all seem to be tight( nothing loose when I rev the engine from underneath)

I screwed the FITV all the way down clockwise because thats what all the guides on here say to do...

Im wondering why reverse is so shitty? Like It's a deep rumble, and I have to give it exceptionally more gas to actually move in reverse, than when In drive.

Did you read anything I said at all ? I'm not pulling this stuff out of my ***.

If you don't want to respond to everything I had to say then I will let someone else help you out. Good luck.

I thought I did. I don't know why people on this forum get so butthurt...

I untightened the FICV and the idle has improved at high speeds. The mounts are all tight. You didn't address anything about my reverse which was what I am still concerned about.

Thanks
