Default 2009 CRV Tire size

I would like to increase from 225/65/17 to 235/70/17 tires. I have done a Koni suspension raise and approximately 30mm rear and 15mm front was the result. Am I going to big?

That's over a 5% increase in overall diameter, and is a very unsafe idea if you haven't done necessary upgrades to the brakes and surrounding suspension components to accomodate the new rolling mass.

Would 235/65/17 be safer? I would also like your view under which conditions it will be unsafe. According to Rimsntire webb site the 235/7017 is ok, but recommend to check if it touches anywhere. This I have done and does not touch although very close on the inside when fully turned.

Vehicle manufacturers warn to stay within a 3% overall circumference range of the factory tire size, to prevent loss in braking, steering, and overall handling characteristics. That's not something you'll find on a tire size comparison site, unless they include warnings (like 1010tires's calculator).

235/65/17 would be within that 3% allotted range.

We haven't recommended anything bigger than 235/65R17 (about 1/2" wider and taller)......

I have fitted 235/70/17's. Fitted perfectly in wheel arches, does not touch anywhere. Speedometer is showing a reading of 100km/h when GPS shows 100km/h spot on. Fuel consumption will be determined on my way to Namibia and outcome of behaviour on the sand dunes in Namibia.
