The ground wire on my hatch is not grounded preventing the rear defrost from working. If I run a jumper wire from the driver's side rear glass terminal to negative battery the rear defroster works. Does anyone know where that black rear glass wire, driver's side, is grounded to the body? I have an open circuit I need to trace. Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

Thanks Ron. If I run a long jumper wire from that C588 connector to the ground terminal at the battery the defroster works. Using an ohm meter its an open circuit between that connector and the battery ground. So for some reason I have an open circuit somewhere back there; that wire is not grounded.

 

The wire is broken somewhere between C588 and G553. You can either locate the break and fix it or simply run a new ground wire and attach it to the chassis.
