Icon2 94 Civic - left blinker also makes the 3rd and right brake lights flash

I just picked up a 1994 dx hatch for my project build and I'm having a little problem. And wonder if this is a common problem. When I put the left turn signal on it makes the driver side turn signal, driver brake,3rd brake light and passenger brake light flash. But also the emergency flashers do not work.
