Default crxbrad's 90 Civic Wagon

Well, I've been looking for a different Civic to be my daily driver that I can also haul people and things in.
I was looking into getting a 96-00 sedan. But couldn't find any, for months that were a decent price and not just roached! But I had a pretty open mind. I have always had a soft spot for the EE wagon as well. So I came upon this on CL and I'm pretty happy with it.
I think it is a DX model. It has the D15 and 4 spd auto tranny
It has pretty minimal rust on rear quarters, small dents and dings here and there, and had a "minor" transmission problem(1st, 2nd, and 4th work fine. Seems to be no 3rd). FIXED
First thing I did was maintenance/tune up. As far as the tranny, I flushed the fluid. I checked all solenoids. Shifter and lock out. Checked the linkage, which was fine. The shifter is pretty solid.
Tranny fluid flush and change fixed it!

Well, here are some pics of when I brought it home.....

So that was in August of 2013.
I have since replaced some parts which needed done. Axles, ball joints, front wheel bearings, front brake pads, and the most recent.....
I did a little research and looked for reviews on these struts I've seen on the market. Didn't really find much though. I found two threads of guys who installed them and had a good result. So that gave me some confidence. I ordered them on a Saturday. They shipped the following Monday. And they were on my porch on Thursday. TruHart is the name. These are their "sport shocks" for CRX application.
I mated them with some Eibach Sportlines I had layin around in the garage. Also CRX application.
So I took just a few pictures as I was doing the install. Pretty straight forward. The new struts came with pretty good size new bump stops. I did not modify them at all. I may in the future, shorten the stock stops, install those, and see if it affects anything for the good or bad.
Here are some pictures.....
Made good use of my dad's heated garage with lift. Very handy.

As far as a review, the ride is great! So far. I'll continue to update as they settle and I continue driving it.

So this is the start of my BUILD THREAD. This one will be a build. Slow though.

Thanks fellas.
We'll last week I sold my baby. My car that is. Haha It was a 97 Civic hatchback
I've had it for 4 years. Was my daily driver. Loved that car. It went to a good home. A buddy of mine who manages the O'Reilly here in town bought it. He's wanted it for a long time. And I was finally in a position to get rid of it. So now I'm down to the wagon which is now my daily. And my CRX. Gonna miss the hatch. But I don't need 3 Hondas. Haha
I have some more maintenance parts coming. Should be here by the middle of this week.
In the meantime I'm just driving it. Love this car.

Here's an updated picture. I like the new ride height. Could be a little lower in the back to level it out. But I'll get to that in time.
I do have a newer exhaust setup to modify and install sometime soon aswell. Pics of that to come when I get it done.

Doin great. The front end is probly as low as I'll go. But the rear needs more low. But I don't think lowering the back more will affect the ride quality much.

But yeah. I am happy with them.

Cool man. I'm still happy with them. Let me know how you like yours when installed.

Not much to update. I installed a VR6 front lip. Other than that, just been driving it to work almost everyday. I take the CRX a day or two per week. In the fair weather.

How many inches are the drop in the front and rear? I've been wanting to get the shocks on my ej6 coupe paired with eibach sportlines. how low should i go while achieving daily driveability?

I'm really not sure how much it lowered it. 1.5-2" I'd guess....? Really not sure though.
It rides better than the stock shocks and springs did but I'm pretty sure the shocks were no good in the front atleast.

So would you recommend the truhart shocks on about a 2 inch drop on an ej6? Sorry it's just I haven't really seen any reviews on them. I just want shocks that'll handle a 2' drop and will ride fine being a daily. Any info could help thanks man, nice wagon

On a 2" drop, I'd say you wouldn't notice it's lowered.
I'd recommend them I you're on a super budget.
If you want a "good" setup, there's definitely WAY better shocks out there.
But it rides ok for what I need. And for what I have invested in it.
I'm going to get some extended top hats here soon.

great looking wagon!

you mentioned extended top hats - are there some out there that fit stock diameter springs? ground controls spec out coilover springs ONLY, and ebay ones don't say specifically.

I'll be making my own using my existing top hats. DIY
