Default Idle Hunt problem

Just did a mpfi swap on my ef, car runs fine, except for it idle hunts ( idle jumps from 1 and a half down to about 500) and its really anoying. I changed the iacv, cleaned it with carb cleaner untill all the carb buildup went away, not sure what it is. Ive heard something about the fitv idk where its at exactly, but if its the part tht sits ontop of the throttle cable and next to the tb, then im screwed cuz all the tiny screws are stripped. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Check for leaks from the intake manifold gasket.

Whats the best way to check for leaks?
And do single cam engines come with fitv? More specifically does the a6 manifold have it? Cuz i clicked that link and in the picture it has it under the tb, but my tb has nothing under it that looks like that

the a6 doesnt have a fitv. you can check for leaks by spraying carb cleaner while its running. if the idle surges while youre misting it around you have found your spot. or you can do a smoke test

Thx for the info ghost, i didnt find any leaks while using carb cleaner, but i did notice the pcv hose disconnected from the breather box, idk if this might have caused an air leak. I
