I own a 1992 honda civic cx hatchback. I plan on doing a straight pipe and i wanted to find a muffler thats good. I want the tip/outlet to be 2-3 inches. No more than 3 inches. Any suggestions?

What motor is in the car? The same muffler will sound different between different engines.

Is there a particular reason you are going straight pipe? Is that for cost because you dont want to buy and add a resonator?

If it needs to be straight piped you will want a muffler that has a good amount of area that has packing, unless you are strickly going for the typical slow, loud, abnoxious honda sound.

 

b16 is in it. Its not because of the cost, I can buy a resonator, no big deal... I thought straight pipe because that's what most of my friends do. I do not like the loud obnoxious sound that's what i want a 3" tip max.

 

Get an S2000 muffler, and you should definitely use a resonator.

 

You'll want to build a proper exhaust then.
Straight pipes on tiny displacement engines sound ... well... loud and obnoxious.

yes I do run my 3'' k-teller without a muffler/res but it's for aero purposes as the muffler was hitting the rear diffuser. resonators are like 30$ and a muffler 50$ cmon a 3'' straight pipe on a stock b16 .
