91 accord code help!
Hey I got a 91 accord that's throw in code 15 ignition output signal and 16 fuel ingector. What can cause this? Are they seperate issues or? Also I had a tough time starting it cranked forevrr.also it has a intermittent miss/surge while crushing in high gear. Thank yall
The two could be related. I would start with testing the ignition components then move onto the fuel injectors.
Code 15 could be ether your ignition control module (ICM/Ignitor) or your Ignition coil.
Here is a good site explaining how to test your ICM and coil; http://easyautodiagnostics.com/honda..._systems_1.php
If that is a bit long winded for you, there are always the PDF shop manuals that can be found online. If you search for "Honda Accord CD7/CD9 (1994) Service Manual" it will come up for download. The 94-97 Accord uses the same style ignition and fuel injection systems as the 90-93 Accord. Therefore the test procedures are identical.
If you don't find anything in the ignition than you can move onto testing the fuel injectors and circuits.

I would suggest atleast taking off the cap and seeing if there is some sort of red dust around the inside of the cap/distributor. When the distributor bearing goes it can toss around a nasty red dust that will cover up the inner sensors and cause issues like that. In some cases the alternator actually going bad causes that code to pop up.
I've actually never even see a code 16 come up. I would first test for 12 volts with the ignition on at each injector connector at yellow black. Then I would test each injector for ohms. Should be 2-3 ohms and they should all be the same. I would warm the car up and test them when they are good and hot. If those all test good you might want to use a noid light or efi quick probe and see if they all fire the same. I suppose there could be an issue with the resistor box if all other tests pass good. I would then test it. Last case scenario is the ecu is bad.

OK I ohmd the injectors all read 2.6. I will check for 12v power Tonight. I think I might go to the junk yard and pull a couple distributers and try the ignitors for poops and giggles. The cap was slightly corroded but not terrible I cleaned everything still ran like **** tho.
