Default Throttle Body fitment and general question

Hey all.

Recently for Christmas my buddy gifted me a Skunk2 Intake Manifold/Throttle body combo for my car. (98 Civic Coupe DX/D16Y7)

However, after searching around I noticed you seem to lose low-end power, and it's overall better to run just a D16Y8 intake manifold. (Less moving stuff around, fitment issues, etc.)

My question being is that could I fit the skunk2 throttle body on my car with no problem? And if possible, would I experience anything beneficial?

The throttle body is 68mm.

Not gonna work. The IACV for the Y7 is mounted to the throttle body. The Junk2 TB doesn't have the holes for an IACV.

Thanks for the quick answer.

Looks like I basically just have a huge skunk2 paperweight then.

I mean, anything that has their name on it should be a paperweight to most people

You should be able to flip it to some madtyteJDMy0 fanboi for a chunk of change.

I've always considered skunk2 to be a maker of decent parts, though.
Im legitimately curious as to why you think otherwise.

And, yes I should. Im working on it now

Go ahead and google Junk2. Also, check out the "bounty" fiasco.

What the hell? I can't even believe a business would request a bounty hunt, such as that. Those were straight childish actions.

I had no idea about this, and now Im disappoint hah.

it wouldn't even fit the stock manifold being 68mm and if you switched to the y8 mani the iacv would be in a different place not that the tb would work so just sell it.
