96 Civic Exhaust Hanging Extra Low
I hit a curb extra hard in my Civic, and the muffler came off and then some. Now my exhaust is hanging pretty low. Driving is still the same, except when I go into the drive way it scrapes. I'm wondering how long can I drive around with it hanging this low? Also, I'm going to get this http://www.ebay.com/itm/Honda-Civic-2D-4D-96-00-Complete-Catback-Exhaust-Muffler-Header-Pipe-6PCS-/190691185050?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Year%3A1996%7CModel%3ACivic&hash=item2c6614919a&vxp=mtr, and most places in my area(Killeen) are trying to charge $300+ to put on exhaust and header, which doesn't even sound right. What can I expect to pay for installation.
I see a hangar on that pipe in your picture. Check to see if the hangar hook is still attached to the under body of the car, if it is, you can just put the hanger back up on its hook and it will hold the pipe up until you can get it repaired.
Really you only need cat back exhaust, with header you are looking at a bit more work and a larger shop bill if you don't do it yourself.
The spring bolts and flex gasket on the catalytic converter should be taking the brunt of this catastophe, so your stock header should still be in good shape.
Definitely get under there and see if that rubber hangar can go back on it's hook. That will help you a lot.

however I will tell you to avoid that cheap piece of scrap steel you're wanting to buy why not get a proper exhaust or just have a exhaust shop make u up a new one ?.
I think i had that same style/brand exhaust on my accord.... it was CHEAP, didnt come with all the hangers and had that whiney weed eater sound to it, with the silencer in it was bearable, lok-tite the screws in to the silencer if you run it.
