Post 1995 Honda Accord Issue

1995 Honda Accord, 2.2 motor, F22b1 motor.
Engine has a stutter in the motor that we cannot seem to track down. So far, we have replaced the distributor cap, rotary button, O2 sensor, thermostat, spark plugs, and plug wires.

At start up, it idles up and down and on occasion between 1500 and 1800 rpm, it has a bad sputter in it. Not a miss, but a sputter. Computer is showing nothing and no codes are stored.

Automatic transmission.

Would appreciate some guidance.

I forgot to add that the car has a significant drop in fuel economy and runs rich

Any recent work done to the car?

Check the coolant level and be sure there is no trapped air. Wouldn't hurt to clean the FITV and the IACV and while there give the TB a good cleaning.

Any leaks in the exhaust system?

Honda did not put duralast wires on it originally. Sumitomo were on it originally.

Def make sure the coolant level is right, and no air. Especially since you just replaced teh thermostat.

op, are you aware the car normally idles higher when cold than when warm ? its designed to do that ...as the car warms up the idle gradually comes down
