The price will go down once people take interest in them. I believe the Toda timing belts for the B-series are $180 as well.

Default I dunno . . .

Prospeed, what information can you provide on exactly how these belts are better than the stock ones? In other words, can you convince us that they're worth spending more than 3 times the amount of an OEM replacement? I'd like to see 3rd party testing with direct comparisons between the two different belts and their construction.

I'm in a position within a few thousand miles to replace my OEM belt (~87,000 miles), but I'm not sure I could justify the expense. Especially on a mostly-stock engine. I mean, a new OEM belt would take the motor all the way to 180,000 miles, and they cost like $50.

And finally, your price seems high for the product. Power Enterprise's page (http://www.power-enterprise.co.jp/ex...lt/sp_belt.htm) lists Honda 4 cylinder belts at 14-16,000 yen. Or about 115 to 130 dollars.

I don't know anyone with an H22A that uses the PE belt, but the B series engine guys swear by them. On a stock motor, it is not worth the PE belt IMHO. They are really only needed when you are using higher-lift cams and/or stiffer valve springs and/or higher than stock RPMs. Any of these changes put additional stress on the timing belt. $180 for the PE belt is in line with what I've seen most vendors in the US sell them for.

Thanks for the reply Aklucsarits. You are right i recommend these for people who do run bigger cams, stiffer valvesprings and high rpm use. If you have a stock H22a then the stock belt will work just fine. I personally run it on my car and i love it. The Belts are high quality. You can feel the difference when you pick up one.

~ $40.

You people that are stock, and looking for a replacement..of course this isn't 'worth' the extra money. But if you've got cams/headwork etc...GET IT. B series guys SWEAR by these when they're not stock.

I've heard that these belts on a stock head can actually do more harm than good..Haven't had any first hand experience with that though.
