Default 96 Civic transmission swap

Will a 5 speed transmission out of a 99 civic fit into my 96 civic?

Please read the FAQs. Here: https://honda-tech.com/forums/honda-civic-del-sol-1992-2000-1/faqs-frequently-asked-tech-questions-1998336/

We can better answer your question if you tell us if your 96 civic is an Auto or a Manual already.

Assuming that your car is already a manual, and you are going d16 to d16, than it will. If the 99 civic trans is from an SI it is not a direct replacement. If it is an auto, it will still work, but you will need the supporting parts like clutch pedal, shifter linkage, etc.

Also, all of this is available with a quick search...
