Default p72 ecu on b17?

Sup ht my p61 went all bad on me so I put a p72 in it. Is this better or worse. Does it make a difference?

It's just not the correct ecu for the car. VTEC set point is much lower, timing and ignition maps differ. It's not going to blow your car up but it would be better to have it chipped for the p61 specs or try to find another p61.

I have a spare p2t if that will work? 150.00shipped. Only problem is, the bottom plate is missing on the bottom of the ecu. Was givin' to me like that, works, tested it twice!

If p2t-a11(obd2b) doesn't work for a b17 ignore this comment.

The P2T won't be worth the hassle of wiring in all the sensors and converting to OBD2B

HondaPartsHero - What does he need to do to convert to obd2b? I've never done nothing like this so I wouldn't know. Maybe he'd be interested?

Farcie123 - Maybe try to look for the orginal ECU?..I'm not sure what ECU that is btw.

Just get a p61 on ebay and cover the cost by selling the p72. Or get it chipped.

this thread sucks.

the p72 has the lower vtec point and the iab's. id be more inclined to run a b16 ecu rather than that p72.

truth is, this is a great opportunity to get an ecu chipped and tuned. carry on
