hey... what would it take internally to make this work on a h22a?

im new to the internal portion of motors, and a lil curious.

could this turbo be used on a daily driver(with boost kept around 8-10 psi)? or is it to big? is this crazy? gimme some help

In a nutshell, that turbo is waaay too big to come any where near a daily driver. Your engine would need to be sleeved and rods and pistons would need to be upgraded, but using this turbo would only be good for drag racing, making power about 5000rpm+. Trust me, you would hate having that turbo on a street car.

Get yourself a t3/t4 hybrid, the t3/t04e is a good size for our motors, I have the 60 trim and love it.

i'm still learnin all that **** myself, your best bet is to go to Barnes & Noble, they've got some GREAT books on "how to" in the Tranportation section.

hey... i was in there with my GF when she was buying some books for college, and i stumbled across a treasure trove of cool ****

 

"Maximum Boost" by Corky Bell and the forced induction section on this site .....For a daily driver, that turbo is way to big. Just get a t3/t4 60 trim. I got this same turbo and love it. Someone is hosting a groupbuy in the forced induction section for Garrett turbos at $525 shipped. This is a very good price.

I remember going to website that told you all sorts of info on anything about everything!! I think the website was "howstuffworks.com". I think!!

But I remember sitting in front of my computer reading for hours on stuff about cars from turbos to rotary engines. They had tons of info on all kinds of stuff.

Gudeh23a is puttin down like 330whp with a T4 i think, i can't remember how many psi though. i'm fairly sure it's under 10 though

 

hell no the boost wasnt under 10. tha would be tight though. i beilve it was 14.

You can make 450hp on a t3/t4 hybrid. Majestic rated mine at ~530hp. It's a t3/t04e, 60 trim, stage 3, .63 a/r and a 10° clip on the wheel.

You would be amazed with how much power the t3/t4 hybrid can make. Check with Earl and Mike Laskey in the FI forum, they will prove it to you through their own experience.

 

oh, i just remember him saying something about his ignition system failing and he couldn't boost past 1.0 bar

 

Can't wait to find out first hand just what kind of horsepower a t3/t4e can produce on an H22... i am a manifold away from finding out..

 

Well, it's not easy to read compressor maps, maybe this will help a bit. It's the 60 trim, the one I am using now. I cannot take credit for the below math, but you can input your own values if they are different, such as cubic inches and desired boost level.



To echo off what others said, get yourself Maximum boost, it is the bible to the darkside. There is a plethora of info in that book, you can order it online at amazon I believe.

WHEW!!!!! tite. hehehe now one more question.. what do u guys reccomend is the best turbo manifold for this t3/t4hybrid?
