Default dpfi d16zc running

I just bought a d16y7 block with a z6 head in a white ef sedan it is dpfi and is running but the idle is very low and I feel its because the distributor only one bolt lines up so im wandering what DISTRIBUTOR should I use on this setup?i believe it has the d15 distributor right now on the d16zc

I think it is a complete waste to run your combo in DPFI setup so you might want to consider upgrading to MPFI and converting to OBD1.

Here is a successful mini me summary taken from D-series forum:

anyways, i got it running good(except for still missing the z6 dizzy, which will be coming)...
to get it to run right, i have the y7/y8 crank gear for the timing belt, y7/y8 timing belt, z6 cam, y7/y8 cam gear, and now it runs normal n is drivable.
it is OBD-1 converted using a virgin P28 ECU.

^That successful mini me summary may not be 100% applicable considering that the OP's setup is technically a VTEC conversion and not a mini me (specifically the use of the Y7/Y8 cam gear).

OP - The reason why your distributor is only being held by one bolt is because the D16Z6 head has it's one unique distributor flange pattern only shared with the D15Z1 (and a few ZC/D15B heads that are based on the same design/casting). It probably is the correct distributor to use with the ECU but probably is being limited in terms of adjustment.

Also as "radex7" touched on, you aren't really taking advantage of what you have because you're two fold on restraints. Not only are you not able to use VTEC but you have the DPFI setup. I'd absolutely back "radex7" in suggesting at a bare minimum doing the MPFI conversion.
