2001 itr (73,000 miles) clutch feel vs 2008 SI (20,000) clutch feel?
The itr's pedal is about 7", from the floor.
I feel a slight pressure for the first 4", then for the next 2" I feel medium pressure, finally, I don't feel much for the last 1".
It's been like this since I got the car at 55,000 miles.
I have to pay close attention to the engine's rpms.
The SI's pedal is about 7", from the floor.
I feel medium pressure for the first 2", then for the next 4" I feel firm pressure, finally, I don't feel much for the last 1".
I never pay attention to the engine's rpms.
Is this so I can ride the clutch more on the itr?
I don't think that the weight of the flywheel would make the itr have medium pressure for half the time/travel, as the SI.

Lots of factors influence clutch feel. I wouldn't read too much into it as long as both cars are engaging as expected.
Regarding your question, no you should avoid riding the clutch on either car as much as possible. A clutch used correctly is a clutch used little.
