Default LeMons build- addicted

Today I purchased my 4th 4th gen, I now currently own 3. This one was picked up for $400 and is going to be a purpose built race car for 24hr LeMons racing.

Stay tuned for the build/strip

Taking donations and lots of parts off this are going to be for sale including the wheels. PM me for parts.

Haha nice, my wife would kill me if I attempted to start buying more Ludes, she hates how many cars we do have, and they are all driveable, well except the WRX, I have it torn apart right now.

I may have misc. engine stuff that could help your build, keep us posted on what you need.

Fist thing on the list is to get a running engine. Haven't torn this one down too see what it needs. 0 compression on cyl 3, blow by out the ***, leaking oil out the exhaust, lol. Prolly just going to throw a f20b in it, or maybe piece together an oem g23, all I need are pistons...hopefully the steel sleeves will hold up better than frm in the 24hrs.

The shifter you can see in this pic, looks a lot like my forbidden, goin to try it out this week some time in my daily. FYI everything in picture is f/s minus the short shifter

Yeah the JTC was the only other true short shifter made aside from the Forbidden, but that guy stopped making them as well. It would be nice if a company would make them and actually stick around, as I know there are many people out there that still want a good short shifter for the 4th gen. I have tried 3-4 times to pick one up used, and the sellers always flake.

I wonder if we could convince someone with some good fab/ machining skills to produce a shifter like the forbidden, especially if they had or could source a good example to reverse engineer?

I have someone in mind, I think this may warrant a message to ask him.

Just to be on topic with your build as well, does the car have any suspension parts yet, or stock?

Ya it has adjustable fron upper control arm mounts for camber. Has some red progressive rate springs and some yellow shocks (not konis) all unknown brand. Haven't really touched the car since I got it.

And it came with a racing mirror!

About a shifter... As I now have 2, forbidden and jtc, I am not in the market but I will say that my forbidden was one of the best mods I did.

Edit:
Pulled the head, have 2 broken guides, cylinder 3 combustion chamber has some damage but not bad. Melted ring lands bad on 3 starting on 1. Sleeves are f'd...

ARP studs a nice surprise

Thinking about going honda challenge instead of lemons

98/01 build would mean 55 mains?
55main h22 crank can fit in f23a1 correct?
***no, h22a are all 50mm

Potential set up
H22a head stock
F23a1 block @ 87.5mm
H22a4 55(mains)crank (need)
H22 rods
Nippon racing h22 type s pistons
Should put me in the ballpark of 11.0:1

Nice find one the studs, but concerning as well. Was this car boosted or sprayed?

Aren't the F23 blocks iron liners, and just use forged pistons instead of the type-s in there?

Just for giggles, I happen to have a bnib set of 1st overbore type-s pistons sitting around, and a set of the JDM H23A rods. I was going to use them in my build, but decided I didn't feel like having the engine bored and honed when my frm sleeves were still in good shape.

I was going to go with the nippon for the price difference over forged.
I have rods
Yes steel sleeved, I have one with 87mm bore, needs hone
Just need a h22a4 crank with 55mains and pistons
Or I could use the f23a1 crank and rods and some other piston

No clue on boost or spray, no signs of it.
Block is going in the junk pile, needs sleeves for any chance at life

So I ended up picking up an f20b, threw a timing belt on it with manual tensioner swap and removed balance belt,, oil pan gasket, valve adjustment, swapped IM and tossed it in.

Seems to be running good, no leaks, oils super clean, slight grind in 3rd at high rpm, going to switch from 5w30 to honda mtf to solve that, hopefully.
220 compression across the board when hot.
White smoke with a blueish tint under acceleration, seems to be getting better and better as I drive it, put 30 miles on it. I think it is just all the oil in the exhaust. I changed the cat out, old one was half missing inside.
