Default another mugen header question

whats up. I just wanted to know a few things. I really believe in the "you get what you pay for" idea. I am going to hopefully invest in a mugen header and exhaust setup. I am very new to integras and would like some input. It looks like they produce the setup for my car, 1995 teg GSR. Is this really worth it? I have had the car two weeks and only have a injen intake and momo ****(not a mod, but cool) thanks for the help. Please try and be constructive. thanks again

BTW i did a search and really didn't find to many answers

in japan theres a mugen header available for the Si/SiR integra (GSR) but the jdm cat is shorter than the US cat, so you'd need to get a custom made cat pipe made in order for it to fit. kingmotorsports told me they can get this header.

damn mugen header is freakin some serious $$$!!!! but what ever floats your boat.. i was thinking about getting one too but i found something else but i cant tell you, its a secret...

i believe in sticking to the least amout of companies as possible - most people that upgrade thier cams on this site seem to like "Skunk2" cams, so if you end up getting those too, then maybe you should get the Skunk2 headers too so they can match! Skunks look pretty cool too! but damn those mugens are freakin nice tho...
i wanted the Gymaiya (however its spelled) spec headers, their 4-2-1 headers...

oh yeah, mugen makes them for gsr too..

y spend the money on mugen header, when u could get a jdm 4-1 and use the money for other mods...trust me u won't even notice the difference between the too...anyways all bseries headers will mount up but the u might have to get some custom work to make the cat fit..

the difference between the mugen and a jdm 4-1 shouldnt be noticed with minor tuning....when people start going to extreme tuning such as wild cams high compression things like that....the mugen header will benefit more

I think, for the money, there are other options that you could look into other than Mugen. When you buy these popular brand names, you usually are paying for the name too as well as quality. So it might skew that notion, "You pay for what you get." a little bit. If you haven't bought your header yet, take a look at this website and decide for yourself.

Looks like JDM Toda yields the best result along with SMSP. JDM Toda is around the same price as Mugen on www.ipsracing.com

Just my $0.02.

i've had both the Mugen 4-1 and Spoon 4-2-1 on my car (ITR). Both are nice headers that do best with an engine with a lot of mods. For the money though, you won't be getting the "most" out of an expensive header like a Mugen unless you have some other mods on your car. I would go with the Comptech header for your car - save your money for other things.

Another really good header within the price range of a comptech header is IB modified JG Edelbrock header. My roommate's GSR gained over 10hp in the midrange. His dyno chart shows most power in the mid range than any other GSR making the same peak horsepower. Absolutely amazing....

If you're SoCal, you could just buy the header from HondaSaver and have it modified at IB, or if not, you could order directly from IB.

true...but at the same time, mod the engine some more go to a dyno slap out the dc 4-1 and the mugen header, and you`ll see why the mugen peice costs more....
