I have a 97 civic EX, and am trying to figure out if the car came with keyless entry new. Is there a way to tell? My factory radio is missing, and the radio harness has been chopped off.

1 Did my car have keyless?
2 if so, do i need the factory radio stuffed in the back of the dash to get it back or are there kits now?
3 which key fobs do i need to order if i have factory keyless
4 where is a good place to find an original end plug to rewire my harness to stock and is there a difference between the keyless and non keyless harnesses?

 

The keyless system was built into the stock radio, which you don't have.

 

So any civic of this year can upgrade to keyless just by swapping in the stock radio and having electric door locks?

Like can i use a 99 keyless system or do those use stock radio as well?

 

99 civic keyless doesn't come in the radio.... Just buy a good alarm with keyless... Most time stock alarm can be easily beaten.
