Default Clutch cable adjustment

Ok, I just replaced my stock b18a1 in my 90 teg with another motor of the same model. Used the trans that was already in the car along with all the original components.... clutch, p/p, etc. Motor is now running good but I don't think I got the cable adjustment correct because it is having some issues. At first the car would only go into gear if you stood (literally) on the clutch. After some adjustments its much easier to go into gear, and shifts smoothly for the most part. But when going down the road if you start to accelerate over 3000rmps or so then the clutch seems like it starts slipping and it pretty much hits neutral..... then I can let off the gas and ease on the gas and its fine. So pretty much the clutch releases under hard acceleration. Besides a small whine in reverse ( which I have heard is pretty typical) no other signs or issues are present. Any suggestions? Do I just need to play with the adjustment of the cable until it gets just right or is there something else I need to be checking out? Thanks for any input.

Well the shifter itself does not jump out of gear. If you give it to much throttle its like it slips into neutral (motor revs but you can tell its not pulling) when it does that if you let off the gas a little bit its in gear fine and pulls as normal..... The incline makes no difference, perfectly flat ground it does it. As long as you shift before 3k rpms its fine, but if you push it past that it acts like it comes out of gear. I hope im explaining it correctly.

Incase anyone comes across this in the future and your having this same problem I found out what I did wrong. I adjusted the big nut on the clutch line to far in. I decided to take it off and start over again. And I just hand tightened the nut plus about one good rotation with a pair of channel locks, and its no longer doing this. It stays in gear fine, clutch feels good, no issues. Clutch releases if you release the clutch a half inch off the floor board, but that's ok for me. Im sure a few more turns would adjust it just right, but im happy with this for now. Just an fyi incase anyone comes across this in the future....
