1992 EG Hatch B16A Build Thread
Alright so I figured instead of making multiple threads asking questions and posting things I would make a build thread to ask questions and show everyone what I'm doing and maybe educate some people.
I got this Honda as a DD just to mess around in. A lot of my friends have them, from stock to built and boosted. I didn't really know what exactly I had when I got the car but I started reading and educating myself.
It's a 1992 EG Hatch with a B16A swap. This is a picture of it the day I got it. (Took the white paint off the wheels after I got it home)

A few days after I had it, I parked it at my grandparents house for about 5 minutes. I came out to find that the car rolled down the driveway into a tree.
I was pissed... Here's a picture of the damage.

So the Honda sat for a good 4 months and then I figured out how to fix it. We cut the frame flat on both sides and welded a flat piece of metal on the ends. Measured everything and welded 2 bars from the flat piece of metal to a new core support. Got a new hood and bumper and headlights as well.
Here she is today:

Now onto current problems...
The motor is burning oil, and more so than usual. If I 2-step launch it, it will blow out blue smoke through first and a little bit of second gear. It doesn't puff blue on deceleration though. So I don't know if it's the rings, or the valve seals. I will be doing a leak down test this week and figure out what my plans are.
Another thing bugging me is the interior and the wiring. One of the previous owner's tried his luck at wire tucking the car... Which was terrible. If a passenger was in the car, the speedometer would cut on and off with the move of a foot, it wasn't charging properly, and the carpet was cut and duct taped for whatever reason. So I moved the under hood fuse box back under the hood, and rerouted most of the wires. Unfortunately, I think I'll need to redo it some more because the blower assembly behind the glove box isn't fully seated because some wires run behind it. Also, when it rains, there's a God awful leak in the far passenger side corner... I guess removing the fender will reveal why.

Well, the B16 finally decided to give up on me the other day. I think the oil pump was failing/failed, which would explain no v-tec. Driving down the road I pushed the clutch in and the car died, I think it was trying to lock-up, but about 5 minutes later it started clattering pretty bad, and then developed a knock. I've taken the head off and it looks fine, going to get it machined and maybe go with some aftermarket valve-train.
As for the bottom end I'm stuck between LS-Vtec using this build thread (https://honda-tech.com/forums/all-motor-naturally-aspirated-44/how-build-%22reliable%22-lsvtec-b20vtec-1676914/) or rebuilding the B16A. I'll decide this week whether to grab an LS block from Pull-A-Part or tear down the B16A (I'll probably do that anyways).
