Do I need tuned? Am I losing power?
So first off I have a 90 Crx Si with a z6 swap. I am running 20 over pistons stock crank mains. z6 head with supertech guides, supertech titanium springs, supertech std valves, and a bisimoto stage 2 cam, golden eagle cam gear. Also a aftermarket 4-2-1 header with stock cat to a magnaflow exhaust. Im running stock injection and ignition with a virgin p28 on a odb0 to obd1 conversion harness with a 4 wire o2 and a obd0 to obd1 distributor. My question to you tune heads is am I losing potential power with a stock p28? Possibly even bad fuel econ? I am just wondering if I need to chip a p28 and run a tune map on it to gain what I have invested or is it really not going to do to much? I have a feeling that mainly my virgin ecu is probably negating potential power because is may be correcting air/fuel/ignition because it is unaware of the lobe lift from the cam. I am just seeking some input and knowledge and help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.
the ecu doesn't really adapt at all, other than minor STFT there are no learning parameters. I'm surprised you haven't blown it yet. Get a tune on that thing dude, you're missing a ton of power.
