Default COLORED GAUGE BEZEL HELP!!!

So I'm taking apart my cluster to put in an omni tach, and i've seen millions of videos, but they all cut out the essential parts i need to see. I saw an aluminum bezel cover for your gauges on ebay, but after seeing the price I decided maybe I could just remove the bezel in there and paint it. Can anybody confirm if the black bezel just removes from the clear plastic casing after you remove the gauge cluster from the casing?

95 honda civic, d16z6, etc etc

if you don't know what im talking about its the black piece with 3 circles cut into it for your gauges, and sits between the gauges themselves and the plastic cover.

i also don't want to take it apart yet because i dont have the gauge yet, so telling me to take apart the cluster to find out won't help.

Okay so I see it's all one piece, but I feel if I remove the clear rings on the backside, and either remove or cover the warning lights, and then tape off the parts I don't want painted, I could paint it. the trouble is removing the clear plastic cover from the housing, i cant do it. I separated the housing from the cluster, so i can mess with the gauges, but I cannot access the bezel. Pls help.

Isn't only little locking tabs that hold it to the assembly?

No, i already did that, so now i have the clear plastic (which is attached to the bezel) in one hand, and the cluster(which holds the gauges) in the other. Now I need to separate the clear plastic piece, ie the cover, from the bezel. The bezel and clear plastic piece makes a housing of it's own.

I'm not 100% positive about EGs, but on EJs, CRVs, and Integras, the inner black housing area is removable. IIRC, there are several screws on the back that hold it on.

I'll look at a spare cluster when I get home, but I'm telling you up front if I find that it's a simple task I'm going to clown the F out of you.

There's no screws or screw holes.

If it's glued, then how are you supposed to replace the black piece with aluminum or fake carbon ones or whatever? It's got to come off somehow.

I have a 2000 so it might be different but, I just undid the clips on the outer clear cover and lifted the black plastic off. There should be little plastoc clips on there somewhere.

I just read a post where one guy had success by slowly and carefully cutting the glue with a razor blade then glued it back up.

just make sure all the moisture is out before glue it back.

There's clips, but they are more just tabs that probably are used to situate the clear plastic cover and keep it in place. It looks like there's glue all around the cover where it meets the bezel. Guess I'm just gonna have to pass on this one.... I was really hoping I could take off the cover and spray paint the bezel blue.

heat gun on the gauge cluster, not the best idea in the world....

use a razor to slooooooowwwwwly peel it off. Then just use some 3m adhesive spray to put it back on.

Edit: hey fool is this what you are trying to remove?
