92 civic hatch overheating ?!
Hello HT, I am really trying to get my car up and running again but now it's overheating. I just put in a new thermostat, radiator fluid, and I bled the system but it still seems to overheat. Please help ht your my only hope !
have u tested the fan to make sure it works ? get 2 pieces of wire and run one to power and other to ground and see if fan turns on that will tell u if the fan motor works as for bouncing idle clean the iacv
This is what I did to find the problem with my fan. First I made sure the fan worked by using some wires to run power directly to the fan. If your looking at the from the front of the car its on the left. If it works you need to test the cooling fan switch. The switch is on the side/back of the valve cover. If you have a CAI take it off for better access. Then turn the car to the on position and jump the fuse with a wire. If the fan doesn't kick on its the switch.
Also, make sure you plug the fan back in before testing the switch. Its more than likely the switch.

your radiator fan is probably not the reason your car is running hot...unless you're in a really warm part of washington state during the winter?
is water flowing through your radiator? both hoses warm/ cool? seeing its winter your fan really shouldn't come on much anyway. When you remove your radiator cap is the water in your radiator calm, no bubbling or anything?
