Trans-Am Ownz j00
~1.49's on VIR_F
~176-177 mph at the braking zone before #14
(hitting the revlimiters)Braking in the bottom of the dip for #14

Someone mentioned that VIR was the fastest track that the series has ever raced on.

"Give me another rear end gear buddy"
"Sorry.. that is the lowest numerical one that we have"

hey, do you know what the results are? I moved outta my apt and back home and no longer have SPEED....I wanna know how my cousin Max Lagod finished....he was in the top 10 in the last race, pretty good considering he's in a 5 year old R&S chassis

A friend of mine named Butch Kummer drives a GT-1 Corvette, which is effectively a Trans Am car. It was built by Johnny Miller.
(Actually, the car was pretty much destroyed when the throttle stuck in practice at mid-ohio, but it is likely fixable).
Butch's response to "What's it like to go 180mph (his top speed at Daytona)?"
"The world gets really really narrow at 180mph."
Yikes.

For those that were there, could you see them going through the uphill esses? I watched it on tv, and my jaw was on the floor watching them jump all over the gators in the uphill esses. badass racing

HC vs TA for '03?
as long at HC gets to use the cross over for North course.

That could get real interesting where the cross-over rejoins the main course. Yield sign, anyone?

funny to think that they could run full course in the same time that HC runs the N course
That’s a good way to put it in perspective. That must be a real treat to go around VIR that quick!
Then again, bring on an F1 car or even a CART car on the full course and let them chase the Trans AM cars running on the North course. That should also be pretty even. But the fact that they all have four wheels is about all that is similar between an F1, Trans Am or HC car. Nevertheless, there’s always a bigger fish out there.
