Default NEW TO HONDATA

OK, i have replaced my old NEPTUNE system since i cannot data log it or upagrade without rebuying everything.

does anyone have a base tune i can use for my HONDATA S300.

i have a B18C w T3/T67 turbo 1260cc/120lb injectors. Low impedence.

i have moved from Colorado To Kansas and i am trying to get it fired up to make sure my
motor is Okay.

Please i know i'm not a tuner but i don't have a trailer to get it to one without driving it.

or any suggestions also would be great..

thank you very much.

There should be a basemap for turbo b18c in Smanager just load it and chage the injector size in Smanager with this map you can drive it to a tuner

Yikes... you should have gotten a CD when you purchased it. Either way you need to upload the program on your PC to be able to connect to the ECU. Your best bet is to download the latest version from Hondata and not use the CD.

Sounds like he was originally tuned on the chip version and didn't want to upgrade or use our tools to datalog it.

unfortunately do to local shop rates, they will not use my old ecu to update to the new RTP board.

so it was cheaper for me to find a new system HONDATA.

i had asked about even the old datalogging software and Neptune would not give me a link or file.

i ran neptune for years and would have loved to go to the new system but. would have cost me over double what i got the hondata for.

What do the rates have to do with tuning with the old RTP? Not sure why they couldn't update your original ECU...sounds like BS to me. Any competent tuner should be able to tune using the old RTP or install the new one. Sounds more like they are a Hondata dealer and want you to use what they sell.

Prices from Xenocron.com

Hondata w/Innovate wideband O2 = $898.00 ($719 without wideband)
Neptune Demon w/Innovate wideband O2 = $695.00 ($399 without Wideband)

NeptuneRTP is a free download.... http://www.hrtuning.com/software/ind...le=NepTuneRTP/

The license on the other hand is not free. If you have the old RTP installed then you should have received a license with it when you got it.

Did you have the RTP board installed in your ECU or was it just a chip?

Again, you can get the Neptune Demon board and plug it into your existing ECU for $399. I'm not sure where you got Hondata for $200 but you may want to make sure that it is legit.

Not that any of this really matter as you already have the Hondata unit. Just letting you know that there was a way that you could have continued to use Neptune if your tuner actually used Neptune. Your tuner should have just come right out and told you that they don't use Neptune, instead of beating around the bush like they did.

As far as a basemap goes, you should hit up the tuner that made you buy it and ask them for a basemap. If they really want your business they should be nice enough to give you a basemap to get you to their shop. Ether that or flat bed your car to the shop.

The RTP would have plugged right in to your existing ECU and as it states right on our front page upgrading from the chip version to the RTP is $349 for those existing customers.

For the chip version dated 2008 or newer all you'd need is something like a Moates Hulog and the RTP software. There's an option right in the software for "Direct Logging From ECU" which works for the chip system. You certainly wouldn't have been told anything different if you had emailed in or posted on our forum.

If you had asked about upgrading that information would have been given to you.

Here's what I said in our PM:

I'm really not sure where the misunderstanding could have stemmed from. You would have saved a bundle.

Hondata S300 is NOT $719... It is $490 installed from Phearable for FREE (but you do get what you don't pay for).

Oh yea sorry.. those prices were both with an OBD1 ECU included.

So if you already have a suitable ECU it's $340 for the Neptune Demon and $490 for the Hondata unit.

when i called my local they stated that i could not use my existing ecu and i had to use a new ecu. they wanted me to buy ecu etc. from them and prior to tuning i was looking at 750.00. i think this is where the confusion was, i bought a used s300 for 350.00 complete. i was frustrated because i loved my Neptune system prior.

Wow...$350 is a really good deal for a complete S300 w/ECU.. used or not. Should make sure that it's not one of the counterfeit ones that had been circulating around.
