2001 Integra GSR Problem
Hello H-T,
My 01 GSR have these problems
1. Easy starting when cold. ( starts like a champ)
2. Harder to start when warm (Direct Sun explosure, Long time driving). (Changed starter, at least it will start now when its hot/under sun for sometime , but feels weak ) ( Weak starting or Click with nothing happened. works after cooling off awhile)
3.Poor fuel economy. (25 mpg average now, it used to be 30)
How should i get started to solve this problem?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you!

test the ECT sensor and confirm it's to spec, sounds like your problem to me.

Easy starting when cold, harder starting when warm and poor fuel milage, [and running rich] are symptoms of a bad ECT sensor.
Intermittent starter problems can be a number of things, the first being a bad ground,
I would start by redoing your main grounds, disconnect/clean/reconnect, the batt. to chassis, chassis to engine, thermostat and VC grounds, DO NOT just eyeball them redo them.94

From: TRILLINOIS....WAY downtown, jerky.
25mpg isn't necessarily a sensor issue. It's probably just because it's cold. A 2-5mpg drop due to weather is about normal...depending on temperature delta and driving habits. I guess 5mpg is a bit high...but...still could be weather related.
Does the car throw a CEL?
He's saying that the starter just clicks sometimes when it's warm. This could be a bad battery depending on his definitions of "cold" and "warm".

No the car doesnt throw a CEL most of the time , ( occasionally it does, but it will go away sometimes later)
If it is the battery problem, How can i diagnose the problem? instead of just spending a hundred bucks for a new battery when the problem may not be just the battery.
Thank you!!

Didnt know there is a difference between "winter" or "summer" gas.
THe problem was here for quite awhile i just didnt pay too much attention to it until the problem is still here ( better tho) after i swapped out the starter.
The problem gets more serious in the summer ( due to the temp I guess)
Thank you for your imput!!

How do I diagnose if my car is running rich? and if its a bad ECT sensor, how can I diagnose/solve this problem?
I am not too sure on the steps on redoing my grounds, a detailed guide would be much appreciated!!

Thank you for your information!
For redoing the grounds, step one- disconnect, step two- clean, step three, reconnect. 94
