ATI Race damper dilemma
Alright guys so here is the issue. I had purchased a brand new ATI race damper for my B20/Vtec series from Laskey Racing.
Not directly but through a shop that installed it for me.
Now that I am trying to sell it I am giving people info on it. But the problem is the part number that is on the shell does not reference back to any Honda shells.
The part number on my shell is 916980 when looked up it online i found this
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/ATI-916980
Now when you look up ATI race dampers for Honda/Acura this is what comes up
http://www.atiracing.com/products/da...s/damhonda.htm
I have the correct crankshaft hub number which ends in 026. But the shell does not match up.
Can anyone shed any light on this for me?
Thank you.

I have not gotten to Laskey yet. and I called ATI today and read them the numbers and told them it was for a Honda B series and they said it was fine.
I am just trying to see if anyone can give me some inside info or something.
I have a potential buyer but her checked the numbers I gave him and they did not match any Honda shells.

The part number you order for Honda are the assembly. It says on their catalog you won't find that number anywhere on the damper, you'll find the part numbers of the individual pieces.

There are two different weights available for the 7.074" version and one for the 6.325" version. That makes 3 different sizes and weights. And that's assuming we're only talking about the steel hub. If you consider the available aluminum hub, that doubles the possible combinations. I think as a buyer I'd certainly like to know which one is being made available for purchase. Being told I would be "fine" wouldn't be enough. But, that's just me
So, after many communications with ATI, the general concensus is that the higher up in power you go, the more weight you want on the end of the crank to absorb the harmonics. Use the chart on ATI's website to piece together what you want. Contact them and they will give you the whole assembly part number.
Tep, you're exactly right. I'm looking for the 6.325 version for that very reason. For my application, HP and rotating mass is all taken into account. Eg is doing his best to find out which one he has for me but it's not a simple task. But I appreciate efforts though.
