2006 Honda Accord LX 4 cyl. Automatic Gear Shifter Stuck in Park on Extreme Cold Days
We have been experiencing colder than normal temps in West Virginia this winter. Over the past week since temps have been down below zero, I have noticed that when I go to depress the button on the shifter it feels like it is frozen in place. I let the car warm up for 10 minutes or so and then spray some white lithium grease inside the button housing. I have also removed the two screws that hold the shifter handle on the shifter pin and have sprayed the same grease down along side the shifter pin. I begin to play with the button repeatedly until it finally pops free from being locked. This is getting extremely frustrating to deal with each morning and I'm wondering if I'm attacking this problem correctly. Can someone let me know. Thanks....
