Hi All. I've just joined the forum after buying a 91 Honda Accord wagon--my first Honda. I think I'm hooked for life. Anyway, my nozzles weren't spraying with enough power to hit the windshield, so I bought new ones at the dealer. Turns out that when the hood is propped open, these new ones spray nice and strong, but when I close the hood they are worse than the old ones. No spray at all. So weird! I kid you not. Hood open, perfect spray. Hood closed, no spray!! Is it because the hose is old and perhaps gets too bent in when the hood is closed? This is, after all, a 23 year old car and most of the parts still look original. Does anyone out there have any hunches?

 

The hoses should be held away from hinges and any other parts with clips that attach to the underside of the hood. Verify the hoses are free of any junk, check the reservoir and pumps for buildup/blockage.
